While being interviewed at the Sundance Film Festival by MTV, Orlando Bloom said he would put back on the elf ears and play Legalos when Guillermo del Toro takes the director’s seat for the Lord of the Rings prequel. It’s not clear that the role will even be in these new films, but the optimistic Aussie sent the new director an email and said “You know, if you want me to don the blonde wig and pointy ears again, I’d be honored to do it.”

Whether or not he plays a part in the movie it sounds like the del Toro fan will still go see it. “He’s obviously going to take his own idea of it, but I’m excited for that movie. I think it’s going to be great.” If he doesn’t get the job he can always rejoin girlfriend Miranda Kerr  in St. Barts and help her finally come to terms with the fact that she’s a model.

Sky’s the limit for  Bloom, who seems to realize that as he walks around the Sundance Film Festival looking chipper.
