Releasing in theaters next weekend (July 16), Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is already generating Oscar buzz for his leading role as Dom Cobb.
With a little help from Warner Bros., who has been releasing trailer after more informative trailer about the visually stunning and intellectually stimulating summer gem of a film, it’s possible that this time around, Oscar will stop teasing Leo and finally give it up.
The kitchy flirt talk is compliments of Jeremy Helligar, True/Slant, who painted a very tease-worthy picture of the Oscar/Leo relationship.
Helligar does make a point though. Leo has been playing the cat and mouse game with Oscar long enough. “The star of Titanic, formerly the highest-grossing film of all
time, has been Academy Award-nominated three times (for What’s
Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator and Blood Diamond).
He’s toplined two Best Picture winners (Titanic and The
Departed) and starred in two others (The Gangs of New York
and The Aviator). He’s a rarity in Hollywood: an actor and
a movie star, capable of carrying films that earn money and excellent
reviews.”
But this time Leo seems ahead of the pack with director Christopher Nolan (Memento and The Dark Knight) and an award-winning supporting cast giving him a one-two punch.
Plus with all the promotion he’s doing, as seen here at a photocall with the hallucinating Ellen Page at The Dorchester Hotel in London yesterday, who could ignore him?

Leo deserves some Oscar love…
