‘Out’ Magazine Names Top 100 Outstanding People Of 2009

The five stars topping Out magazine’s Out 100 2009 List are gracing the most recent cover of the publication. Comedian Wanda Sykes, singers Cyndi Lauper and Adam Lambert, West Point graduate Lt. Dan Choi and director Rob Marshall nabbed the top spots, earning themselves “honor roll” mentions.

In addition, Neil Patrick Harris and Broadway star, Gavin Creel also landed themselves in the top ten on the list of 100 honorees. Both Sykes and Lambert “officially” came out earlier this year, with Wanda speaking out after Proposition 8 passed in California and Adam going public with a Rolling Stone cover after the finale for American Idol.

Of the revelation, Adam tells Out, “If I lose some fans, fuck it. I need to be happy too.” Wanda sums it up by telling the magazine, “It’s great being out. Everything is out on the table and I am what I am.”
