A mustache can do wonders for a career.

Mariah Carey was given the award for Breakthrough Actress last night at the 2010 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala for her performance in Precious. The films director, Lee Daniels presented her with the award.

Mariah hobnobed at the ceremony with Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood. We think she was trying to pitch her script for The True Story of Mariah Carey – From Cocoon to Butterfly. The film would of course star Hilary Swank as the cocoon.
