Paparazzo Learns Angelina Jolie Isn’t Evil After All

June 16th, 2007 // 22 Comments

Photographer James Ambler was following Angelina Jolie around NYC on his bike, ran into a little problem. A nail. The paparazzo, got a flat, and the next thing you know Angelina Jolie was giving him a ride.

The stunned shutterbug – whom Jolie as well as her kids had already nicknamed “Lance,” after cycling champ Lance Armstrong – then heard from Jolie herself, who said from the car, “Come on Lance, hop in.”

Inside the vehicle, Jolie told him she appreciated the space some of the photographers were giving her children, he said. Asked afterwards how much time he actually spent in the car with her, Ambler replied that he didn’t really know. “Time stood still,” he said.

And as for how he’d describe his hostess on wheels: “Really down to earth, really lovely,” says Ambler – who soon found himself in a brand new position: as the target of the paparazzi lenses, for having had a brush with fame.

I still think shes evil, and a phycho…

  2. Margaret | June 16, 2007 at 1:20 pm

My favorite reaction to this was Pat Lalama on Hannity and Combes who said: “Hey, and I was the one who defended her when people called her a home-wrecking trollop, too. So I’m really mad.”
and “I am truly disappointed. And it just goes to show she’s uninformed and uneducated.” Angie made no new friends this week and angered old friends, like TMZ, who named her Loser of the Week.

TMZ are idiots. It’s so funny that the people who are complaining about the restriction are not even journalists. I have yet to hear one reputable news organization complain or even report about this incident. Fox News doesn’t count especially when they lied about Angie requesting them not be allowed in. Saw Geraldo Rivera there and that’s real journalism.

  4. Margaret | June 16, 2007 at 5:10 pm

Geraldo was there as a guest as a member of Reporters Without Borders and did no interviewing. AP blasted Angelina as did USA Today, Washington Times, Boston Herald, Orlando Sentinel to start. I stopped goggling when I got my fill. Who knows what he will say when asked. Geraldo is a straunch supporter of freedom of the press. TMZ does matter. Harvey is used as an expert all the time on news shows on NBC and FOX at least. Angelina screwed up big time.

  5. Angietothemax | June 16, 2007 at 5:40 pm

Any media outlet that consideres Paris Hilton to be newsworthy definitely doesn’t have my respect. TMZ.com is the same as any other gossip blog they are not reputable or relevant in the grand scheme of things. Do I think Angelina will be hurt because I seriously doubt it the truth is the media needs her as much as she needs them. Do I think her lawyer went to far by threatening to sue and seek a restraining order yes but that’s not Angie. She has always agreed to talk candidly and is very open. But it really doesn’t matter the truth is out and it will blow over. It’s a non-story and people are acting like someone was killed in the process.

    MARGARET
if you are gonna ‘get your fill’ on the inevitable negative publicity that’s gonna follow Angelina and ignore any lick of good she does, fine.

Wallow in your cesspool of hate
BUT FOR GOD’S SAKE GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.
Maybe read something outside your narrow viewpoint so you are not so vulnerable to discredit.

(you DO know how to cut and paste, I hope tsk. tsk

My dear Just – I don’t know what you read into the Geraldo blurb, but he certainly did not kiss her a**. I read this earlier in the day. He didn’t know what happened, she was nice to him and his wife, but said if she indeed had gone down that path, he would certainly denounce it. What – do you read every fifth word.

GERALDO RIVERA: I was shocked when I heard the controversy that Angelina apparently had gone off on this rant and wanted to ban the news channel and all of the Fox affiliates as well from covering “The Mighty Heart”[sic] the opening. I was shocked, because she could not have been nicer to my wife, Erica, and to me, walking the red carpet. Just the way things worked out, we got there late. They had already walked the red carpet. We didn’t even know it, so then we walked the red carpet and the lights went off. And then at the end of the red carpet, Angelina and Brad were there talking to the producers of the movie. And she saw me, came right over. She shook Erica’s hand. People took pictures. I don’t know if you have any. But she shook Erica’s hand and they started talking about babies. We all five- you know- we have five children, she has five children.

DOOCY: Does she know that you work for the Fox News Channel?

    RIVERA: Of course she did.

  9. quiet | June 16, 2007 at 7:46 pm

    No margaret,
people just read the same things as you and do not look to find the negative.

there are so many people/celebrities for you to attack and fault yet you are hung up on here where finally there’s a balanced account of this mini-brouhaha.

when you make a blanket statement/s try to back it up otherwise its just an opinion and for the most part, otherwise meaningless.

  10. Margaret | June 16, 2007 at 8:01 pm

    RIVERA:
So I don’t know what happened with the Angelina Jolie thing. She and Brad Pitt again could not have been nicer to my wife and me. But if they are going down that same sorry path, all I’m going to say is that a lot of people consider me a liberal and all the rest of it. I will condemn that behavior. That is censorship. It is as odious as if some far right-wing person did it, and it is as unacceptable and I just won’t stand for it. And I’m telling you, a lot of people feel the way I do about this.

  11. jannre | June 17, 2007 at 5:27 pm

I always look for the negative with AJ or BP, because I can’t stand either one of them..they are liars and media hos. And its fun to put them down, because thats where they belong. And all you AJ lovers can say whatever you want about me, but thats my story and Im stickin to it..

  12. emmy | June 18, 2007 at 12:22 am

Picking up the stalking pap was nice!
God, why is everybody focused on Fox, they were’nt banned, the invitation was not sent out – they got it as soon as the production found out.
Human error – not a big conspiracy they like to create for entertainment.
They might be taken seriously if they actually started reporting the news rather than making it up!

Who said she was evil? The woman is simply mentally unstable. Mentally unstable people should get help before being allowed to adopt bus-loads of children.

  14. selma | June 18, 2007 at 1:48 pm

    T-Bone
what are u basing calling her mentally unstable on?
that’s a pretty mean spirited accusation.
i have not been a fan really but have been watching her closely and reading most of her interviews. i guess i was looking for something to dislike her for. and yeah, i am a HUGE brad pitt fan and am jealous :)

but she has been remarkable in everything i’ve read about her and from her mouth.

theres been a sh*tload of criticism of her before she did the publicity whirl for the 2 movies. who could stand up to such scrutiny?

she has and with grace and dignity.
she has admittedly been thru a really emotional time and has still managed to deal with her public life without drama.

yeah she used to jump into fountains at redcarpet events—she admits that
but says she now jumps into motherhood—the ultimate adventure.

i have (tho grudgingly) come to admire her for her courage and her tremendous determination.

    just my humble opinion.

  15. quiet | June 18, 2007 at 1:52 pm

    hey there Selma

YOU TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!
this woman is handling herself with aplomb in the international community—–and no one seems to think she is ‘mentally unstable’

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A POSTER LIKE THIS TBONE DEAL WITH THE THINGS SHE DOES—-THINK ABOUT THE PRESS FOLLOWING HER INCESSANTLY IN INDIA AND STILL SHE TURNED OUT AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE AS MARIANE PEARL—-INCREDIBLE

  16. T-Bone | June 18, 2007 at 2:04 pm

“THINK ABOUT THE PRESS FOLLOWING HER INCESSANTLY IN INDIA AND STILL SHE TURNED OUT AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE AS MARIANE PEARL”
    _______________________________________________

Wait — did this woman CHOOSE the limelight or didn’t she? Last I heard she CHOSE to be a Hollywood actress and she CHOSE to spark controversy with all of her very public antics, so why would anyone feel sorry for her. She loves this!

And as for her “amazing performance”, from what I’ve seen and heard, that’s pretty much a matter of opinion.

  17. quiet | June 18, 2007 at 2:16 pm

IF YOU THINK TBONE THAT SHE HAS NOT HAD PREDOMINANTLY GOOD, EVEN GREAT REVIEWS FOR AMH
YOU NEED TO STOP LIVING ON THIS SITE AND OBSESSING OVER ANGELINA JOLIE AND READ SOME REVIEWS. GO TO ROTTEN TOMATOES.

YOU MAY NOT LIKE THE CHICK BUT SHE HAS ACTING CHOPS GALORE–NOT MY OPINION, CONSENSUS.

WHAT, ARE YOU A JENFAN-ADDICT? ARE YOU UPSET BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE THAT BOGUS STORY THAN ANISTON EVER EVER HAD A CHANCE AT PLAYING THIS PART?

OH I GET IT NOW—-THATS WHATS PICKING YOUR A** TO BE SO GRUMPY ON A MONDAY MORNING. YIKES. WHO THE HELL CARES? ITS SHOWBIZNESS!

  18. charlesincharge | June 18, 2007 at 2:21 pm

    Jenfan-addict!

Thats a hoot!!!!! Right on, QUIET.
You got her number. Its not about anything with this one except the endless, mindless droning on and on and on about angelina being unstable and mentally ill. do yourself a favor and dont get into it—these boards are life blood to her.
anywhere else, she would be chewed up and spit out.
thanks for the laugh with my lunch.

  19. sasha | June 18, 2007 at 2:33 pm

you cannot argue with a jenniferaniston freak.
they are still mad about the divorce.
    they cannot let it go.
every other celebrity gets a pass on all their scandals and divorces but not brad pitt.

he is the cheater of the century by these loonies and it is beyond tiresome.

  20. limelight | June 18, 2007 at 2:36 pm

I DONT GET IT —THERE ARE SOOOOOOO MANY CELEBRITIES TO HATE AND PICK ON—WHY THE INCESSANT NEED TO DWELL ON THIS ONE WOMAN?

its like a bitchfest here day in day out
mindless drivel based on amateurish peabrains
    ciao!

  21. T-Bone | June 18, 2007 at 3:35 pm

I like Jennifer Aniston, but I’m no addict, I can assure you. But if it helps you sleep at night to think that’s the reason why I’m not fond of your idol, Angelina Jolie, you just go ahead think what you need to think.

In my opinion, Angelina Jolie is an overrated actress who plays “mentally disturbed” very well (ie; GIA and Girl Interup.) Other than that, completely over-rated.
