Paris Hilton Detained In Japan For Cokehead-Ness

Apparently the Japanese don’t care too much for celebrity privilege, because Paris Hilton, hoping to get away from her recent troubles with the law on the homefront, is currently being detained in Japan.

“Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese
airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned
many months earlier,” Hilton’s rep said. “Paris was contractually bound to her business
trip and didn’t want to let down her brands and many Asian fans.”

An employee at the Japanese Consulate in NYC said Japan does not take these kind of matters lightly
(like say, oh, the Las Vegas police…): “Japan is strict about letting people into the country with recent drug
convictions.”

So boo-hoo, Paris (pictured leaving Vegas yesterday by private plane) will have to stay holed up in some hotel for a while. Let’s just say it’s a lot better than jail.
