Paula Abdul sure waited until my interest in this story waned to make a decision.

Everyone wanted to know what Paula was going to do after leaving American Idol almost a year ago and after careful consideration of new projects she’s…going to be a judge on a talent competition series.

CBS is billing the show, Got to Dance, as “broadcast’s first all-ages all-genres dance series” and Paula, who dined at Boa on April 27, will also be a mentor and coach to contestants as well as an executive producer. Um, I don’t need to even watch it, and I’m still pretty sure that the show is a rip off of So You Think You Can Dance.

Got to Dance will likely start midseason and possibly opposite American Idol.

So Paula’s next career move will be in a similar role on a formulaic, not particularly innovative , reality competition in a world crammed full of talent competitions. I’ll take it. Just give me back the crazy.
