Despite the fact that she’s absolutely gorgeous, Paz de la Huerta sometimes doesn’t make much sense – especially in her interviews.
She briefly spoke with ELLE while attending her friend Alberta Ferretti’s Philosophy show and she admitted she doesn’t pay any attention to reviews of her red carpet appearances…
ELLE: Your daring red carpet choices have gotten a lot of press lately. How do you pick your looks?
Paz de la Huerta: Well really I have to feel comfortable in it. Last night I wore Antonio Berardi with beautiful elevated shoulders. It was very classy actually and long, and some diamonds—I felt really classy. It was the Haiti relief benefit in Donna Karan’s space. Really whatever I feel. At the SAG awards I wore it was brown—but then it was kind of plum— a long mermaid gown and it wasn’t because it was any designer in particular. It just felt good on my body and I felt like a mermaid!
ELLE: Outside of fashion shows, what are your favorite things to do in New York?
PdlH: I go to an acting class every Sunday. You know, when you’re a guitar player you practice the guitar. When you’re an actress you’ve got to keep your body as your sanctuary and your muscles. I go to Kundalini yoga almost every day and that keeps my heart open and the acting classes are with an amazing teacher I’ve been working with since I was 17 and now I’m getting ready to shoot season two of Boardwalk Empire so a lot of sleep.
ELLE: Do you ever get out to Broadway to go to the theater? Everyone’s talking about Spiderman.
PdlH: Oh yes Spiderman. I heard about how he keeps falling down. I think that’s very cruel to be honest. I’m always honest. I think it’s very cruel. It should be in Vegas not in Times Square. I’m going to go to Michael Shannon’s play this week though.
