Pete Burns has checked himself into a mental health unit. The singer, 46, is said to be suffering from sleep deprivation and exhaustion. He went to the St Charles Mental Health Unit yesterday after a row at the Hempel Hotel in West London over an unpaid pounds 10,000 bill. Pete’s spokesman said: “Life has been very stressful for Pete since leaving Big Brother. “He returned from two years in Italy to go straight on to the show. He spent most of his time there having agonising reconstructive surgery.” He added the Dead or Alive star’s divorce had also “proved to be extremely stressful”.
