Marlene Dietrich (1901-1992)
Those legs! German-born Marlene Dietrich was one of the few actresses whose career was able to survive when motion pictures turned to sound. She was known throughout Hollywood for her "femme fatale" quality, something she worked very hard to create when she first got to Paramount Pictures. Later on, Marlene was one of the first insure a body part getting a $1 million policy on her legs. The actress was active until 1984 when poor health put an end to her acting career. She passed away in 1992 from renal failure, but fans aren't quick to forget this German beauty.
