If you're looking to fill the void left behind from the end of Smallville, fear not, as another hero from the DC Comics universe is heading your way. The Green Arrow returns to the small screen in this action-packed new series which is serving as the lead-in to CW's successful series,Supernatural. Stephen Amell (Private Practice) stars as the title character, using archery, martial arts and an array of tech gadgets to fight crime in Starling City. Away from his secret identity, mask and quiver, Arrow's is Oliver Queen, billionaire playboy and political upstart. After becoming stranded on a desolate Pacific island and presumed dead after a shipwreck, Oliver learns to survive and kick butt. Once he's rescued, Oliver seeks to reconcile with his girlfriend, Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy from Gossip Girl and Nightmare on Elm Street) while using his newly-acquired skills to fight crime and restore Starling City to its former glory. Throwing a monkey wrench in Arrow's plans is Laurel's detective father, Quentin, whose prime objective is to rid the city of who he feels is a troublesome vigilante. Critics have likened this new show to a mash-up between Smallville and Gossip Girl. With an attractive lead, lots of action and a strong supporting cast, can Arrow out "super"Supernatural?
