500 year old Katherine Pierce, played by Nina Dobrev, is known for her selfish antics. For most of her life she has been running from Klaus Mikaelson. In order to survive, she had to have her best interests in mind at all times. She easily sacrificed others so no harm would come to her. The only person she appears to care about besides herself would have to be Stefan Salvatore. In 1864, she was in a love triangle with him and his older brother, Damon. During modern times we found out that her true love all along was the younger Salvatore. She's another vampire who has killed just for fun. In the episode, Masquerade, she kills a girl at the party just to prove a point to Stefan. This beauty is accustomed to getting what she wants, even if others have to suffer the consequences. To maintain her survival record, she has practically handed over innocent people to more dangerous villains. The most notable occurrence was during the end of season two. Katherine resumed running from Klaus during the middle of season three. Her current whereabouts are unknown, but fans are anticipating her arrival.
