It seems like we’ve been waiting ages for this to happen! The Avengers began way back in 2005 after Marvel Studios came into fruition and the idea of a super hero-filled flick was tossed around. The plans were set all along from the release of Iron Man in 2008: establish flagpole franchises and launching points for each superhero culminating in the ultimate marvel film. The success of Iron Man led to the announcement of release dates for The Avengers and the workings of both Thor and Captain America feature films.
