Since Prince and Princess Michael of Kent do not receive a royal allowance, they work just like the rest of us do. Oftentimes they'll use their royal status for profit, accepting lavish gifts and getting paid (like a celebrity) to attend events. This has earned them the nickname "Rent-A-Kents."
