WTF? Young Lee, a co-founder of frozen yogurt chain Pinkberry Inc., was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday for allegedly assaulting a homeless man with a deadly weapon in June 2011, Bloomberg Businessweek reported. The LAX Fugitive Task Force, which includes Los Angeles Police Department officers and FBI agents, nabbed Lee, 47, after he got off a flight from South Korea, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Lee and a second man were in a rented Range Rover parked on Vermont Avenue near a U.S. 101 off-ramp on June 15 when Lee apparently took offense at a homeless man who was panhandling on the side of the road, district attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison said.

Lee thought the man had shown him disrespect by exposing a sexually explicit tattoo, prosecutors contended. Details of the tattoo were not revealed. Lee and another man got out of the car and Lee beat the man with a tire iron, breaking his left forearm and cutting his head, authorities said.

Okay, that is just plain awful. If you live in a big city, you’ve deal with homeless people on a daily basis. I’ve been spit at, yelled at and had things thrown at me by homeless people and I have not been compelled to beat the shit out of a homeless person with a tire iron. Flip them off afterwards, yes, but a tire iron beat down, no. I mean, seriously?
