Well congratulations to Gabourey Sidibe! The actress was named Outstanding Actress for her role in Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire at the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards. Also winning for the film was Mo’Nique for Outstanding Supporting Actress, Director Lee Daniels, and writer Geoffrey Fietcher. The film also won the for Outstanding Motion Picture.
“Hello!” began the 26-year-old Gabourey’s speech, “It is an honor to be nominated, but it is so awesome to win. I love winning!” Sidibe exclaimed, going on to thank God, “for ordering my steps,” and her “teachers”–Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Sherri Shepherd and Mariah Carey.
