Girls star Jemima Kirke is expecting her second child, and the actress posed during her pregnancy for a series of attention-getting shots. Kirke, 27, bared her belly while topless and in a bikini for Vice magazine.
When the reporter for Vice asked Kirke if she recalled the time the Girls actress offered her cocaine when they were eighteen years of age, Kirk admitted she remembered the incident because the reporter was “impressionable at the time.”
The Girls star, now a married mother of two, claims her wild days are long gone. The New York City-bred actress said growing up in the city wasn’t a bad influence and that she would have been a “bad girl” even if she grew up in the suburbs. She then used Lindsay Lohan as an example.
“I still would have been a disaster in the suburbs, too. In the city I had access to bars, parties, and drugs, but even if I lived on the outskirts I probably would’ve been cutting up pills in my bedroom,” she told Vice. “I don’t think location would have mattered. I wasn’t pissed at my parents, and I wasn’t a brat, so I don’t feel the city really changed me in that way. [pause] Oh, Lindsay [Lohan] strikes again! I’m reading the Post and she fucking hit a pedestrian again with her SUV.”
Kirke was asked about her newfound stardom from appearing in her friend Lena Dunham’s hit Girls. She confessed that although she is grateful for the opportunity, acting isn’t her true passion.
“Acting is secondary – I don’t feel like it’s going to stick around because it’s not something I want to do forever. My art has always been my top priority and I have far more experience in that field than I do in film… I’m really grateful for such enjoyable work, I just don’t feel as though I have any clout as an actor. I haven’t earned it, and I don’t intend to.”
Kirke plays Jessa Johansson, a British nanny who lives with her cousin Shoshanna in New York.
The first season of Girls aired in April, 2012. The show earned five Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Lena Dunham received nominations for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, as well as for directing and writing the show.
The second season of Girls airs in January, 2013.
