The Sun reported yesterday that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on holiday in Mustique. The couple joined the Middleton family for a vacation on the Caribbean island, as they did last year around the same time.
“Both William and Kate were hoping her condition would not stop her from making the eight-hour flight to Barbados and the connection to Mustique,” a source told the paper (via HELLO! Magazine).
“A month ago such a journey would have been unthinkable for her, so this is a clear sign she has made a virtual recovery.”
The island is known for its privacy, and the resort where the group is staying has increased its security measures.
After this trip, the Duchess of Cambridge will visit Hope House in South London on February 19th. The facility is run by Action on Addiction, one of the four charities Catherine officially supports.
“The Duchess’ support, in throwing a spotlight on addiction and recovery and helping us to break down the stigma associated with this complex condition, is enormously important,” the site’s press release read. ”We are grateful for her continued involvement with the charity, and her enthusiasm for understanding more about our clients and staff.”
“During her visit, the Duchess will hear first-hand our female clients’ experiences of their addiction and recovery journeys. She will also have the opportunity to experience what a typical day at Hope House is like and find out why a range of treatments, such as art therapy and information on nutrition, are effective in helping women start to re-build their lives. And the staff and clients at Hope House are very much looking forward to meeting her.”
