Today Reese Witherspoon appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote This Means War, co-starring Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. While chatting with DeGeneres, the topic of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge came up.
Witherspoon and Catherine met during a reception to mark the launch of Tusk’s US Patron Circle at the home of Steve Tisch on July 10, 2011 in Beverley Hill, California, and the look on Witherspoon’s face said it all.
“Somebody called me and said we’re having a really small fundraiser would you want to come over and meet the Prince and Princess? I was like, Yes. My husband [Jim Toth] just thought I was so dorky,” Witherspoon explained giddily.
“He was like, why are you so excited? I must of tried on like six outfits. I’m meeting a princess. You don’t understand. You have to be wearing the right outfit and the whole thing. I don’t know maybe we can be friends. So we went and it’s always funny. Whenever I am super excited about things, my husband calls it the double barrel. That’s when I smile so big I look like a child.”
