Renee Zellweger‘s red carpet fashion is notoriously hit or miss. She peaked in quirkiness a few years back with ghostly skin and dyed black hair, looking eerily like the female version of her then-boyfriend Jack White.
Luckily for her skin tone, she’s maintained her honey blond hair—which in a ringlet-laden upsweep looked delightfully mussed at last night’s Golden Globes awards.
While at first glance this may look like a typical red carpet, dripping with drama mermaid-like dress. However, it’s actually a skirt and black organza Caroline Herrera two-piece, paired with Louboutin pumps and Verdura Maltese cross cuffs.
I dunno. Maybe I’m reaching here, but there’s something sort of Deadwood-ish about the sleeves and neck. Almost like this could be a modernized haute couture version of a gown the trampy harlot of the town downing Sloe Gin Fizes in the saloon would wear.
Thanks to the sheer top we also know Renee is wearing some white undergarment thing…

This dress is a definite miss, not a hit. But in her defense, Renee is edgier than Angie’s old woman dress.
