Evita has returned to the New York stage for the first time in over 30 years, with a re-imagining on Broadway. The production stars Ricky Martin as Che, alongside Elena Roger as Eva and Michael Servers as Juan.

Ricky is thrilled at the unusual casting: “I am very thankful, a lot of gratitude because of the people that I am working with, the past, directors, producers, choreographers, people that are guiding me in such a beautiful way and I am just allowing myself to be loved and cared for by an amazing audience every night.

“And it’s been amazing, I’m honored to be back – as part of the Broadway community.”

Martin commands the stage with an air of confidence, yet the Latin superstar admits to being self-conscious at times. 

“I’m still human and sometimes I feel uncertain about things,” Martin admitted Thursday night.

Evita tells the true story of Argentina’s first lady Eva Peron, who was the second wife of president Juan Peron.
