It’s no secret that Rihanna had planned to testify in her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown‘s felony assault case and now she has been subpoenaed for that very purpose.
On Tuesday, Rihanna was served in person with the subpoena in Los Angeles. Her lawyer Donald Etra confirms the information to People magazine and added, “If the preliminary hearing indeed goes forward, she is now legally required to be there, she will be there, and will answer all questions truthfully.”
A criminal defense attorney who talked with the magazine speculates that Rihanna’s testimony will be critical to the outcome of the case. But yeah, we kind of figured that ourselves.
