The indie film that had Robert Pattinson uglify his fabulous mane of wild locks is the one that convinced him to keep plugging away as an actor. In How To Be, RPattz was instructed to grow out his hair and his pants were even made a little too short in order to tone down the actor’s natural good looks.
This was done in order to place the emphasis on the actor’s musical skills in the film. ” A lot of the time he would turn out to have a really good technique and we told him he needed to play it more simply,”
according to Oliver Irving, the movie’s director.
Irving also said, “He was thinking about giving up acting and maybe doing music solely when this role [in How To Be] came along.” So keep in mind that if it weren’t for the bad hair and short pants from this movie, we would never have been given the opportunity to fall in love with him in Twilight. It’s enough to make a hamburger cry, just thinking about it.

I just watched “How to Be” on the IFC channel. I enjoyed this movie! In fact, in some ways more than Twilight! It is a quirky kind of Brit film, (and I wish those Brits would enunciate their words!!)
Anyway; kind of refreshing to see Rob out of the Edward mode. All this Twilight news, gossip, and covers on magazines is getting tiresome. As I’m sure it is for him, too!! Nice work, Rob! You still look great even as a geek! ;)

Um Shelley, Britian is one of the most well spoken countries in the world. You’ve seen oldies like Pride and Prejudice right? They’re are some who speak with a bit of a cockney accent but American’s have Southern’s who speak with a bit of a twang too.
