Well, he has the fantastical hair that looks like a coral reef that will attack ships. A source says that Twilight’s Robert Pattinson is in contention to play Johnny Depp‘s brother in the next installment of the Pirates of the Carribbean series.
No, there’s nothing confirmed as of yet. But the previous contender was Russell Brand and since he got banned from the BBC and ranked on the Disney company’s Jonas Brothers at the VMAs this year. And Pirates is Disney’s biggest franchise, so all that mess on Brand’s head is growing out of his brain.
And, the source says that Kiera Knightley and Orlando Bloom might not be back so they need new characters, anyways.
But isn’t Edward Cullen a little clean-looking to play Capt. Jack Sparrow’s bro? His dad was Keith Richards and Depp reeks of booze and not-showering in that role…can Pattinson stand being dirtied up? Pirates are some grimy-ass people. No offense to pirates.

He’s said in a recent interview that if he doesn’t care to keep his hair clean, he shouldn’t have to. So, I really don’t think he’d mind being paid to be dirty for a good chunk of time.

This is a guy who admits to not washing his hair for 6 wks. He doesn’t shower much. He’ll be perfect. Man is that going to be some major eye candy to have Johnny and Robert. I’m there!

I’m very protective of Johnny and his career and I think he is so fantastic, but I don’t want someone who is an egotistical alcoholic hurting anything. I was obsessed with pirates one and two, but three sucked and having a fourth would be worse. He is definitely dirty enough to play a pirate, but I don’t think he’s… established enough.
