Ron Wood and Keith Richards Fight over Drugs

Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones has come out with a memoir, musing over his experiences with the Rolling Stones. The book is entitled, “Ronnie,” and Wood talks about his encounters with other musicians during his career, including his London roommate, Jimi Hendrix. In addition to chatting about the time he stole hard-boiled eggs during his time in the Small Faces with Rod Stewart to live off of because they were so poor, as well as his experiences with Sir Elton John, Wood chronicles his career and personal relationship with the Rolling Stones. According to Woods, “We knew how to party,” recalling the time in his life when his drug problem had become to dire that Keith Richards pulled a gun on him to get him to stop.

“Everybody was angry with me around this time, and after a row with Keith one day, he stormed off to get his gun,” Wood writes in his new memoir “Ronnie” (St. Martin’s Press). “He returned with his derringer, pointed it at me and yelled ‘You f–ing b–!’ I calmly pulled out my .44 Magnum. And that was the last time Keith drew his gun on me … until the next time.”

I love that Keith Richards’ idea of an intervention involves firearms. And this is random, but how great is this picture of Ronnie at the top of the post? It’s pretty amazing that as old as he is, he basically just looks like a normal hipster guy, with lots of wrinkles.
