Ryan O’Neal’s Had Enough, Tries to Shoot His Kid

February 5th, 2007 // 2 Comments

Griffin O’Neal has apparently gotten on his Dad’s last nerve, as his father pulled a piece on him early Sunday morning .

Actor
Ryan O’Neal was arrested and accused of assaulting his adult son with a handgun during a fight at the actor’s Malibu home, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said on Sunday.

Griffin O’Neal, 42, was not injured but a 22-year-old female friend of his suffered minor injuries, not from the gun, and was treated at a hospital.

Not that this makes it ok, but Griffin has a past history of substance abuse and legal problems. He was found guilty of reckless boating in the 1986 accident that killed the eldest son of Francis Ford Coppola, pleaded no contest to a 1989 drunk driving charge, and spent a year in rehab after shooting up his girlfriend’s unoccupied car in 1992. Sounds like a real catch. Kudos to Ryan for doing what the rest of us only dream of. Firing a gun at a vastly irritating person. Though this coulda been a WHOLE n’other story if he’d landed a shot. Yikes.

“Griffin has a past history of substance abuse and legal problems.” And Ryan O’Neal doesn’t?
