Ryan Reynolds Runs NYC Marathon For Parkinson’s

November 2nd, 2008 // 1 Comment

Putting his toned body to good use, Ryan Reynolds completed the ING New York City Marathon to raise money and awareness for his pet cause of combating Parkinson’s disease. The actor, whose father was diagnosed with the illness 15 years ago, said that he picked up speed when he spotted actor Michael J. Fox on Fifth Avenue.

Another friendly face Reynolds was excited to see along the course of the race was that of his wife Scarlett Johansson, who Ryan said was “on the road somewhere” while he ran for Team Fox.

Reynolds said he was prepared to celebrate the event by carbo-loading. “I’ll probably celebrate by eating my own body weight in raw dough.” I know that feeling. I call it “Friday night.”
