Sam Worthington Is A Pussycat, Not A Hero

Sam Worthington has played some action heroes in movies like Avatar and his new movie Clash of the Titans, but he would like to debate on the word hero.

“Heroic is not fighting,” Worthington said. “It’s actually getting back up off the canvas. Or, if someone else gets knocked down, you help them up. That’s how I look at it.” I’m not sure how one gets back off a canvas and what that has to do with heroism, but we get the point. Sam is all about his inner hero.

When it comes to the traditional view of a hero, Worthington doesn’t believe he fits the bill.  “They get the idea that I’m a tough, heroic figure, but I’m a sensitive pussycat” says the accidental actor.

Aw, look at the nice security guard pet the pussycat as he’s mobbed at LAX yesterday. Lucky, security guard. Worthington arrived home after the London premiere of Clash of the Titans and fans flogged him for autographs including a request to sign a picture of his blue alien character from Avatar.
