Scary Spice Defends Her Batterer

August 21st, 2007 // 10 Comments

Pretty soon she’s gonna be splashing petrol on the comforter, and throwing a match while wearing a flannel shirt and a black eye. We’ve all seen this movie. Scary Spice defended her husband Stephen Belafonte on those past battering charges to Hello! magazine.

She told Hello! magazine: “They’re trying to make him out to be this aggressive, violent, woman batterer and he’s not. If you read those police reports, they never say he physically beat up a woman.”

Stephen was spared jail but had to take part in a ‘Domestic Violence Batterers’ Programme’.

She added: “The only thing I don’t like is that my friends and family read this and go into shock-horror mode, thinking, ‘Oh, she’s married a psychopath!’.”

Mel admitted: “He hasn’t been the best of people.

Well, uh why was he charged and given a sentence for it? What did he do, then? Yell loud? Or is he one of those freaks that makes the woman split everything 50/50, right on down to the tampons? That’s abuse! Unless your significant other is a layabout, then it’s ok to venture there. Seriously, though, this guy has also killed a DUCK with a BRICK? How long before he’s trying to throw the damn chimney at her annoying ass?

‘If you read those police reports, they never say he physically beat up a woman.’

Whatever, Mel. Deny away. Just be strong enough to leave if he takes a swing at you.

Gimme a break!!!! Why is it anyone’s business what her husband did years ago?! We all have things in our pasts that may be viewed as “less than appealing”. This man didn’t ask to be in the spotlight; he didn’t ask for media attention; so why are bloggers poking around in his private life?!?! The only thing he’s guilty of is falling in love with, and marrying, a famous woman. In my opinion, she doesn’t have to explain his past, and he doesn’t have to explain his past… it’s no one’s business what he did or why.

I know Scary Spice has an older daughter besides Eddie’s bastard, but who’s the white kid in these photos?????

Joe. Any man who beats on a woman is an asshole. Any person who goes out with, let alone marry, someone like that is a dumbass. Having abuse in your past isn’t the same as having too many one night stands or something. Would you personally be cool with someone like that? Knowing that they hurt someone for no f-ing reason?

She’s desperate. She made a mistake, got burned, and now is trying to seem desirable, after having just been dumped when pregnant.

In the photo on the cover of I think it’s “OK” magazine, she’s wearing BLUE contacts. Uh-oh.

    I agree she is desparate

What’s with this woman and Leopard print accessories? Enough already.

First, ducks are EVIL, so good for him. Second, he’s HAWT! And to Dani- no one is above an asswhuppin. No man should start a physical fight with a woman, but if a woman steps to a man with fists or weapons, he’s within his rights to disarm her nonlethally, even if it takes a right hook.

I hope Mel is right, and he isn’t crazy, for her and her daughters sake.
