During the US Open Women’s Semi-Final match against Belgium’s Kim Cjisters last night, something in Serena Williams just snapped after she was called for a foot fault.
Williams erupted at the lineswoman, yelling at her, “If I could I would take this ****ball and shove it down your ***** throat and kill you.” The chair umpire and tournament manager were quickly drawn into the fracas, resulting in a penalty for the statuesque American tennis player.
The match ended with a loss for Serena and she was booed by the fans as she left the court. I refuse to believe this was really how Serena behaved. I prefer to think it was the work of her evil twin.

Behaved like a spoiled child. Should receive a further suspension.
I don’t think she deserves to be suspended. People lash out all the time in sports. Its call an competitive edge People!! If she felt the calls were bull then she had the right to be mad. The only part of her comment I think was wrong was the “kill you” part.
Watch the tape again. She threatened an official, for crying out loud! When have you ever seen anything nearly this bad, said or done by anyone in tennis. People are talking about Roger saying the “s—t” word while complaining about a call. This is a 100 times worse than that. Let me repeat, SHE THREATENED AN OFFICIAL. It isn’t done in tennis, it shouldn’t be done in any sport. I saw excerpts of her VMA interview where she used this incident to sell her new book! There’s no remorse here, no genuine apology. Come on, wake up! Do you just idolize anyone because they are famous? She has no integrity, no compassion, I don’t believe for a moment she has put herself in the place of the official she threatened. She’s loving the publicity this has generated so she can sell her stupid book. And because of people who will idolize anyone, I bet she makes lots of money off it!
She deserves to be suspended and fined heavily, at least $250,000. Threatening an official is not done in tennis. USTA, send a strong message, protect the integrity of our sport. Those who compare this to Roger complaining about a call, get real. SHE THREATENED AN OFFICIAL. The two incidents are not similar at all.
