UPDATE:  Shia’s publicist Melissa Kates talked to E! Online about rumors that her client might need an amputation. “It’s a “completely fabricated story,” she said.

Shia LaBeouf‘s recent car accident mangled his hand up worse than we all thought. Despite having surgery on his left right after the accident (that wasn’t his fault), it seems more work needs do be done including a possible finger amputation.

According to a source from the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Shia had to call the movie producers and inform them that he will likely have to have his left pinky finger removed, messing up production even more.

Shia better cling for life to the Transformers movies. I’ve never see an actor on film who was missing his pinky. Those fingers do a lot of expressing–I mean, Dr. Evil wouldn’t be anyone without it.
