While Adele‘s fame grows and grows, her vocal chords could not take the additional stress. She acquired a case of laryngitis that caused her to postpone the remaining portion of her North American tour. She is currently recovering in the U.K. until August when she will return to the United States to reward her patient fans with her powerful pipes.

Adele recently explained the situation to a radio station saying, “It’s basically a hole in your vocal chord, but I sang through it, so that’s why it popped,” the 23-year-old star explained. “But I’m better now. It’s fine—I got the all-clear.”
