What producers want, what they what they really, really want is to find five girls to portray Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm on stage in a musical production about the British pop group.

Backers of what is being billed as a two-hour “pop extravaganza” are banking on the success of last year’s reunion tour of the 90s pop stars executed a few years ago.

A snitch dishes to The Sun, “The project is Geri’s baby really but all the girls are backing it. The idea is for five relatively unknown actresses to take the parts and hopefully the girls will each have a say in who is cast.”
