Joe Manganiello, Robert Pattinson, Amber Riley and Justin Timberlake were only a few stars who came together for Stand Up To Cancer on Friday night (September 7th). The event helped build public support for groundbreaking translational cancer research and accelerates the delivery of new therapies to patients.
The one-hour fundraising event was simulcast live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC as well as Armed Forces Network, BIO, E!, ENCORE, HBO, HBO Latino, ION Television, LMN (Lifetime Movie Network), Logo, MLB Network, mun2, Palladia, SHOWTIME, Smithsonian Channel, STARZ, STYLE, TBS, and VH1.
Hulu also provided the exclusive live stream of the telecast and will have the show on demand at http://www.hulu.com/stand-up-to-cancer. Gwyneth Paltrow and Emmy Award winner Joel Gallen joined Stand Up To Cancer’s production team as the executive producers.
In addition to personal patient stories, the program featured celebrity speakers and a celebrity phone/multi-media bank allowing viewers to interact with participating talent as well as performances by Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw.
