Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Liane Balaban – who has a guest arc this upcoming season – shot scenes on the first day of filming Supernatural‘s season eight in Vancouver, British Columbia yesterday (July 10th).
Balaban will play a doctor, described by the CW (via Zap2it) as “a tragedy-damaged soul” who “soon reveals herself to be a brave, sweet, smart, sarcastic woman.” Balaban will play Sam’s (Padalecki) love interest, though she’ll put up a good fight in the beginning.

Haven’t the producers/writers WHATEVER, figured out that no one really wants them to have a “love interest?” Certainly not a long-term one. I mean, COME ON . . . we’re watching the epic love story of Sam and Dean, here. Don’t nobody want no other “love interest!”
