Surprise! Dr. Phil Goes Beyond Guidelines On Florida Beating Case

April 13th, 2008 // 2 Comments

Dr. Phil does not know when to mind his own business — and neither do his producers.

In the past week 8 teens in Florida taped themselves beating their 16-year-old ‘friend’ unconscious (see above video if you were too caught up on the Texas polygamists all week).

Dr Phil and his goons stepped right on in. They even paid the $33,000 bond for Mercades Nichols, the leader of the abusive teens to get out of jail.

One of Dr. Phil’s producers walked the girl and her mom from the jail, telling other reporters to go away because Dr. Phil had exclusive rights to the story.

The ‘Dr. Phil Show’ has released a statement on the incident:

‘We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show – assisting with clothing allowance, lost wages, accommodations, travel and necessities. In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines (re: the bail being paid). These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised.’

Or maybe the producers realized they couldn’t legally get a story from these girls — as a gag order has been placed on everyone involved.

So I guess the only way Dr. Phil helped this situation was by bailing the unsympathetic head bully out of jail?

Good one, Dr. P. You’ve done gone pissed Oprah off again.
