Sydney Shoppers Are Hardcore

March 12th, 2007 // 1 Comment

Stella McCartney’s Target line of affordable designer duds caused a “buying frenzy.” Yesterday was the launch of range that caused mass chaos. Shoppers lined up outside the store before the doors even opened. Around 700 women stormed Target as doors opened. Some threw caution and common decency to the wind and found their way from the back of the line to the front. Obscenities began flying along with women pushing and shoving.

The bedlam continued inside. Racks were emptied half an hour after the opening. Mannequins were stripped down brutally as shoppers were eager to score some of Stella’s line. People grabbed whatever they could no matter the size or style. Even when you had something in your grip women would rip the garments from your hands.

Unremarkably items from the collection were available on eBay. One particular item that retailed at Target for $60 sold for $127 or $99 in American currency.

Yikes! Send it the fashion SWAT team. Soccer moms (or the whatever the Sydney equivalent is) can be vicious.
