Young Taylor Lautner is looking so grown and whatnot in these pictures for Interview magazine. Let’s just hope he’s not howling over lost love in real life, as the rumors indicate.

These black and white photos reveal that the 17-year-old has done a lot of growing up since Twilight. Most specifically, he famously grew an impressive set of muscles in order to keep himself in the running toward becoming America’s Next Top Werewolf boyfriend in New Moon.

The hardest part of bulking up for the role was the eating, according to Lautner. “At one point I had to shove as much food in my body as possible to pack on calories. My trainer wanted me to do six meals a day and not go two hours without eating. If I would cheat on eating one day, I could tell–I’d drop a few pounds.”

Oh, to have the metabolism of a young werewolf…
