The AP Has A One-Week Paris Detox

The Associated Press decided to see what would happen if, for a week, they simply didn’t report any stories involving Paris Hilton. The result? Absolutely nothing.

“It turned out that people noticed plenty — but not in the way that might have been expected,” the AP said in a story today. “None of the tens of thousands of media outlets that depend on AP called in asking for a Paris Hilton story. No one felt a newsworthy event had been ignored. (To be fair, nothing too out-of-the-ordinary happened in the Hilton universe.)”

During that week of Paris-free news, she enjoyed an over-the-top 26th birthday bash that went (GASP!) unreported. Now, I’ll be honest, I can’t really make too many jokes about how great it is not to have any Paris Hilton stories because quite frankly, that ho is my bread and butter. It would be like the regular L.A. news getting psyched that there were no longer going to be any slow car chases or movie premieres.

Even more photos of Paris Hilton in her Snow White get up after the jump.
