The Billboard Awards were last night, and no one seemed to be missing Paris or Britney’s asses since they dropped out of hosting.
USA Today reports that Mary J. Blighe kicked ass, and took home nine awards including one for R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year. Chris Brown followed her with three wins, including one for Artist of the Year.
There were no official hosts, and presenters stood in and kept up the flow of awards and performances.
Janet Jackson opened the show with a nod to the old and the new. Sporting a short bob haircut and a belly-baring white turtleneck sweater that offered no chance of wardrobe malfunction, Jackson performed her 1980s classic, The Pleasure Principle, mixed into So Excited, a single from her 2006 comeback album, 20 Y.O.
Ms. Jackson if you nasty! I don’t give a Debarge if she hasn’t been able to sell a CD since flashing her Damita Jo at the Superbowl, she’s still hotsy. And I bet the crowd heaved a sigh of relief that they wouldn’t be exposed to any labia courtesy of Busted Vagina One and Two.
Many more photos (Carmen Electra, Courtney Love, Carrot Top, Dave Navarro, Denise Richards, Flavor Flav, Kristen Bell, Janice Dickinson, Katharine McPhee, Nelly Furtado, Carrie Underwood, Chris Brown, Chris Daughtry, Frankie J, Kathy Griffin, Pharrell, Wynona, Vida Guerra, and Ace Williams) from the Billboard Awards red carpet after the jump.
