If the story is not true, what really does Life & Style have to lose? The split cover story has gotten them so much coverage, it doesn’t matter what the actual outcome of the relationship is.
Here is the statement released with the denial of the breakup.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE STATEMENT REGARDING TOM CRUISE AND KATIE HOLMES AND LIFE & STYLE MAGAZINE Los Angeles, CA (February 14, 2006) – In reference to a forthcoming cover story in the tabloid magazine Life & Style about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, it should be known that the story is 100% false. Mr. Cruise and Ms. Holmes are still engaged and are moving forward with their wedding plans, as well as planning for the arrival of their child. Despite the malicious fallacies put forth by Life & Style magazine, the couple is looking forward to a long and happy life together as a family.
Now, how we’ve seen it work with other celebrity couples of late, we should be seeing the actual breakup in approximately two months time. However, I’m thinking that TomKat may postpone the breakup to mid-summer to avoid any fallout that could tarnish the image of Tom Cruise.

Like I siad before I love Tom he is one of my favorite actors. I’m so sick of these horrible horrible rumors they spread about these celebrities as if they were not human and no feelings. I’m glad Tom and Katies publicist spoke up on the rumors. Secondly will someone please tell Katie to close her mouth !

Yeah I am a huge Tom Cruise fan as well! Nobody can jump on a couch better than Tom! And he apparently is a psychiatrist as well. I saw him on tv with Matt Lauer! He knows everything about mental health! So all of you haters just shut up already!
not only does he know more about psychiatry than psychiatrists, he knows more about child birth and post-partum depression than doctors and the women who’ve lived through it.
based on the typical hollywood/celeb denials of trouble in a relationship (Jess/Nick, Heather/Ricthie, Lance/Sheryl…even Brad/Jen), I give them another 6-8 weeks.
or, in Tom’s delusional “I am God” state, until just after the baby is born, at which point he will start a campaign against Katie’s ability to be a good mother so he can get full custody.

Dr. Tia, you are so tiresome. First of all, if an item appears in a tabloid rag, you’d beter believe the publicists put it there in the first place. And second of all, she is laughing in the picture. I heard a rumor that Tom was changing his name to Sue, as in “A boy named Sue”, as a tribute to the ever so late Johnny Cash.
Perhaps that was a rumor started by one “erotic wrestler” named Chad Slater (AKA Kyle Bradford), Tommy’s old fling. Or perhaps it was Michael Davis, who approached various news services claiming he had a video of Cruise in a homosexual relationship. Or perhaps it was one of the many other people that Cruise has threatened to SUE.
Sue Cruise. Has a nice ring to it.
