The Great Wall of Fendi and Tim Gunn’s Endowment

It sounds a lot dirtier than it really is.

The Great Wall of China is one of the most anticipated fashion hot spots this fall. Karl Lagerfeld’s creations will be strutting down the wall in a fashion show. It will be the first time the Wall is used for a runway show. Karl maintains that it s just another show, but the hype is outstanding.

The label is also growing steadily despite the rocky past. The fragrance by Fendi will be in hitting a broad spectrum of markets soon. Attempts to jump into the pool of fine jewelry and hotels are under way. And to think Karl almost missed out on all that.

Tim Gunn is also climbing the ladder. Last night he was honored at the Annual Parsons Fashion Benefit and Fashion Show. His current and latest employer, Liz Claiborne, graciously set up a scholarship in his name for Parsons. The $350,000 scholarship was just part of his evening. Parsons also named him honorary chair of fashion design.

I could just see Tim clutching his pearls as they surprised him with all the honoring. Little tears of joy streaming down his face as he reaches for a hankie. Awww.

Check out a Tim Gunn discussion on Famesters for more on Gunn’s endowment. Are you a “Lost” fan? You are not alone check out a discussion in the Lost Lounge. While you are poking about on Famesters have some fun answering some polls.
