The Jackson Family On TV

Dear God. It’s me, Lisa. Thanking you for making this come to fruition. Sincerely, Lisa Timmons.

Variety reports that the Jackson clan has partnered up with CBS to create “Pop Dynasty,” a talent-search competition. The gist is that the show will find the next big talented family, to follow in the footsteps of the Jackson Family Five, the Hansons and the Carpenters, etc. Jermaine, Tito and LaToya (YES!) will act as judges on the show. In contrast to “American Idol,” the family’s home lives will also be taken into consideration during the judging process.

Also aboard: longtime collaborators Jamie Foxx, Marcus King and Greg Shelton, along with Triage Entertainment’s Stu Schreiberg. Specific titles are still being hammered out, but Halima Rashid and Steve Kroopnick are also among the principals attached.

I really, honestly have no idea how this could be any less than awesome. LaToya Jackson is the best thing to happen to reality TV since Janice Dickinson. If there was some way for those two trash television superpowers to combine, I feel like Nirvana could be reached.
