Wow, so I’m still not used to seeing skinny Peter Jackson. The Lord of the Rings director was looking mighty trim at a special screening of his new film, The Lovely Bones, at the Oak Room in New York City. Mark Wahlberg was looking predictably dapper in his black suit.

However, as jarring as it is to see Pete looking all skinnified, nothing ever quite prepares you for a close-up picture of crazy Courtney Love who has officially gone and entered Jocelyn Wildenstein territory. I never thought I’d say this, but I think it’s not as scary when she’s smiling. Although, I think it’s most disturbing when she’s standing the young star of the film, Saoirse Ronan.

I gotta hand it to Helena Christensen, who manages to keep her poise even when Courtney’s rubbing her corrugated cheek against Helena’s supermodelness.
