The infamous 2003 MTV Video Music Awards smooch between Madonna and her then thought-to-be successor Britney Spears (pre-Gaga, of course) was the best famous kiss of the decade, according to a poll by UK department store Selfridge’s.

Oh yeah, and Christina Aguilera was there too. Although, seeing how the dueling pop singers’ careers each turned out, I’m sure Christina isn’t crying over being left out. Meanwhile, this is the best news about Britney in a while! Following speculation of boyfriend Jason Trawick’s fidelity to Britney Spears, the two departed for a getaway from Los Angeles yesterday. And Madonna, well, nothing’s really changed there.

I think a Madonna and Lady Gaga follow-up performance needs to happen soon. But instead of kissing Gaga, maybe Madonna can fake stab her instead!
