E! Online tells us that Dreamgirls looks to sweep the NAACP Image Awards. Hopefully in the “Jesus, This Is A Boring Movie” Category.
The critically acclaimed musical is sitting pretty heading into the 38th NAACP Image Awards, with its eight nominations tying television’s Everybody Hates Chris for most mentions this year.
Accolades bestowed on Dreamgirls include a nomination for Outstanding Motion Picture, acting nods for Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx and Danny Glover, and a notice for its soulful soundtrack.
Beyoncé also picked up the most nominations for an individual performer, scoring nods for Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Song and Music Video for “Irreplaceable” and Outstanding Album for B’Day to give the 2006 multitasker a grand total of five.
Jennifer Hudson can blow the roof off the joint with that voice, and the flick had some hot hair and clothes when it got to the 1970′s portion of events, but I didn’t get what all the goddamn fuss was about. It was…boring. And Beyonce’s kinda…well, she’d be good to plant in your yard for those areas where you don’t have grass to give your lawn a manicured look.

Finally someone has the guts to say something negative about this movie, which is obviously the clear winner in the Politically Correct Movie To Love category.

Wow i can’t believe what i’m reading i thought the movie was awesome i’ve seen it three times already and i’m looking forward to this movie winning many awards
Good for you, J. Harvey!
Geez, some people just HAVE to be different. I don’t buy it! No one in their right mind could find the movie boring! Stop trying to be be controversial…. you’re not fooling anyone.
The movie was amazing, It stuck to the script if you will. I just have a few reservations about it. I had the honor of seeing the original Dreamgirls when I was a child and It blew me away even then. This story is about the group however, It really details about Effie. But everytime I turn on the TV. Im not seeing jennifer hudson, IM SEEING BEYONCE’! This story is not all about Deena Jones, so why is it that Jennifer Hudson isnt getting the limelight that Beyonce is? And Why is Jennifer Holliday the original Effie not involved in this project? Let us not forget that it was her angelic voice who first breathed life into that role and made it legendary! WHAT THE HELL WHERE THEY THINKING? Jennifer Holliday is the powerhouse of the original Dreamgirls going out on that stage daily singing “And I am telling you Im not going” and brought the people to their feet! But yet when they decide to remake this major piece of theatric history. . . .No Jennifer Holliday? and the best they could do is bring in Lorrell?(Loretta Devine) It a crying shame.
