New speculations as to how the marriage between Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe eventually unraveled have emerged in the new issue of Us Weekly. And at the center of the rumors is Ryan’s co-star from Stop Loss, Abbie Cornish. From Us Weekly’s celebrity news blog:
For a married man with two children (Ava, 7, and Deacon, 3), Phillippe was rather open about their affair. On October 10, local Lauren Scott witnessed Phillippe and a blonde, who fit Cornish’s description, kissing at sushi restaurant Kenichi. “I was pretty shocked that he would blatantly cheat on Reese in public,” Scott tells Us. But Witherspoon and Phillippe’s union remained intact – until Witherspoon, 30, was alerted to pictures of Phillippe with Cornish, says a source. When she confronted him about the relationship, “Ryan admitted it was true and said, ‘We just need to end this.’ Reese literally had no choice.”
So, what really happened between these two? Like the Kennedy assasination, or Atlantis, it may just have to remain one of those great mysteries in life. Until the Vanity Fair tell-all interview, at least.

Ryan didn’t cheat…. His marriage with Reese was on the rocks… But he didn’t cheat her…

IMHO Ryan was jealous of Reese’s career. His ego couldn’t stand a wife who was far more successful and a better actor so he screwed some no name. He’s a scoundrel for doing this, they have 2 young children and he breaks up the family because of his ego to screw around with some no name. He will do the same to her. Reese is better off with Jake, a great actor, sure his ego can deal with Reese’s success as Jake is a success himself. I mean seriously? Ryan has had few choice role but he is not leading man material.
