So Helen Mirren won the Oscar last night for portraying Queen Elizabeth II during the time of Diana’s death. And you’d think that the Queen wouldn’t be too thrilled. Nope, she’s actually invited Helen to lunch at Buckingham Palace ! Which is even better because she’s won the Oscar. Go Queen! Hopefully they get Indian, cuz’ the food in Britain sucks. Except for Indian. That’s just my personal opinion. I’m no gourmand. Hello, Kraft macaroni & cheese and hot dogs is my favorite meal. With a delicious Ring-Ding as dessert!

The victory prompted a sigh of relief from her supporters, the bookmakers who had already paid out in anticipation and, presumably, Buckingham Palace, which has invited Dame Helen and the film-makers to lunch.

Would she be getting a call from the Queen? “I’m not expecting a call from Her Majesty, not ever!”, she said. “I think it’s wonderful that I live in a country that allows us to make a film like this.”

Helen, honey, I’ll call you. I’m a queen. That counts.
