The wannabe trinity of the teen vampire genre skipped over the pond to London yesterday to promote their upcoming season for a crazy bombardment of fans.

And although my vampire allegiance is strictly to the Twilight franchise (only 21 more days till the LA premiere!), I will say that Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley may be the only cast running neck-and-neck (get it?) for “Best Bone Structure on Television.” I mean that Paul kid…seriously? Is it possible to ooze sex from a man’s jaw line?

Now, obvi that all the true VD fans are committed to the show’s plot line more than me, and are stoked that the CW is bringing it back in the fall, but here’s a bit of insider news from the cast’s recent trip down the red carpet.

1. Paul Wesley originally auditioned for the part of Damon, but didn’t quite hit the evil standard quota like Ian Somerhalder. Good thing they’re both equally hot that nobody really cares what character they’re playing.

2. Ashlee Simpson was the CW’s original pick during the casting for Elena but praise the sweet Lord above that Psycho Spice didn’t get the gig. I’m pretty sure my Christian Louboutins have more believable acting skills than her. Besides, we all know Nina’s hotter anyway.
