Returning to the scene of a turning point in his public persona, Tom Cruise will be joining Matt Lauer on the Today show for an interview to promote his film Valkyrie. As it turns out, selling movies is motivation enough to bury the hatchet.

Tom has already done his part to try and distance himself from the incident in which he accused the morning talk show host of being “glib” by poking fun at himself and Lauer at a Friar’s Club roast for the on-air journalist.

As for his Oprah Winfrey couch-jumping escapade, Tom has since reunited with the talk show host to attempt to put his exuberance into context and recently admitted to People magazine that he could have “handled things better.”

If Mattt has a pair on him, he’ll try to push Tom’s buttons during round two and try to get the loon to take a swing at him. Or even better, forget Tom and let Suri Cruise do the interview. She’s much better under pressure.
